FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: process includes machining edges located along the sheet perimeter b and removing an organic glass layer from the upper and lower surface of the sheet. The layer has a constant thickness equal to 0.05-0.1 that of the sheet. The layer is of contact width which is measured from the sheet end surface and equal to the fixing face of clamps set along the sheet edges. In the chamber the sheet is heated to a hyperelastic condition followed by stretching through moving the clamps a preset distance. The stretched sheet is cooled. EFFECT: better quality of finished product, enhanced efficiency of process. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
