FIELD: electric train automation. SUBSTANCE: device has the following devices individual for traction motors: field converter, proportional-plus-integral current regulator, error discrimination unit, amplifier, armature current sensor, maximum signal discrimination unit, controlled switch, AND gate, comparator, threshold element, inverting amplifier and differentiator. Device has also the following devices common for traction motors: minimum current setter, required current setter, null detector, comparator, voltage sensor and time delay unit. Device employs for its operation principle of traction motor load equalizing with individual floating control of traction motor armature current. Skidding and slipping of wheelset are revealed by checking value of contact system voltage and correspondence of polarity of signal between required and measured values of current to polarity of signal proportional to current derivative of each traction motor. To eliminate skidding or slipping, current setting signal of traction motor of wheelset which has lost adhesion with rail is reduced for a short time to preset minimum value.
