SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of measuring in a system to be monitored hydrogen content of a sample of a mass to be controlled, its moisture content, its ash content, measuring a quantity of the mass, correcting that mass according to its ash content, correcting the hydrogen content of the mass according to its moisture content and determining with use of corrected parameters an output quality factor of the mass to be controlled. The method comprises steps of determining the above mentioned quality factor according to corrected parameters by calculation of a consumption loss degree of the basic raw material; determined by preliminary calculation of a content of carbon mass in the mass to be controlled, the carbon mass being an objective parameter relative to a coal product to be produced; performing calculation of quantity of the objective mass by determining foreign element content in the sample, being determined in its turn according to the received corrected hydrogen content. The above mentioned content had been calculated, an additional correction of the mass according to its ash content is be to performed with its use.
