FIELD: machine-tool manufacture. SUBSTANCE: capstan has housing 5, tool drum 6 with arbors 8 installed at an angle on axle 7. Maltese cross 17 rigidly connected with the drum, drive shaft 4 with drive half-coupling 12, crank 16 with cog 18 and spur gear wheel 23 and 24 with slots installed on shafts 25 and 26. Additional cogwheel tooth 20 is secured on the crank, and radially flexible retainers 33 and 34 - on the shaft ends. Drive half-coupling 12 through lever 15 is connected with toothed wheel 23. In the initial position half-coupling 11 of the arbor is coupled with half-coupling 12, and one of the drum arbors is engaged. When the drum position is changed, motor M3 is actuated, cogwheel tooth 20, being engaged with the slot, turns toothed wheels 23 and 24, and, through lever 15, uncouples half-couplings 11 and 12, radially flexible retainers 33 and 34 come out of the seats, and then cogwheel tooth 18 turns the Maltese cross with drum 6. Then, cogwheel tooth 20 returns wheels 23 and 24 to the initial position, half-couplings 11 and 12 get coupled, and the Maltese cross is locked by retainers 33 and 34. Now the capstan is ready for use. EFFECT: improved design. 9 dwg
