FIELD: manufacture of clayware. SUBSTANCE: ceramic powder is filled into vertical press mold so that thickness of powder layer in lower part of press mold is less than that in its upper part, and pressing is accomplished in horizontal direction with growing pressure according to harmonic dependence. Device for realization of the method has front post of bed connected with base by means of screw joint. Rigidly connected to bed are two horizontal guides on which slides-punches are mounted, which are kinematically connected with crank mechanism whose crankshaft carries connecting rods of front and rear slides-punches. Connecting rods are hinged to crankshaft with eccentricity to each other. Connecting rod of front slides- punches is made in form of hydraulic cylinder of short stroke. Located in body of slides-punches are vibrators engageable with surfaces of stamps secured to slides-punches. Stamp of front slide-punch is hinged to upper part and spring-loaded in lower part for turning through small angle. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 7 dwg
