FIELD: sweeping and pickup-sweeping machines. SUBSTANCE: method of simulation of sweeping process involves provision of rotation of fixed brush and forced delivery of flow of refuse and litter to brush at speed corresponding to transportation speed of sweeping machine, blowing of brush by air stream directed parallel to direction of refuse and litter flow motion and recording of distance of refuse and litter throwing by brush to find coefficientof sweeping efficiency. Device for implementing this method has cylindrical brush with rotary drive secured on fixed frame. Brush is mounted over belt conveyor which has special bin for refuse and litter. Fan is installed in front of brush. Outlet nozzle of fan is parallel to conveyor surface and exposed to additional aerodynamic resistance from air stream moving at a speed simulating transportation speed of sweeping machine relative to steady air medium.
