FIELD: testing equipment. SUBSTANCE: gripper for mechanical testing of thin-walled tubular samples has body 1 with longitudinal grooves and butt protrusion 3. Rod 5 is manufactured in the form of bushing with longitudinal cone grooves and butt protrusion 7 interacting with butt protrusion 3 of body 1. Inserts 13 placed between inner surface of sample 12 and rod 5 are produced wedge-shaped with ring protrusions 14 and are mounted in longitudinal grooves of rod 5 for axial movement. Inserts 8 put between outer surface of sample 12 and casing 4 are made with cone longitudinal grooves 9, ring hollows 10 and butt protrusions 11 interacting with longitudinal grooves 2 in body 1.
