FIELD: light-signaling instruments. SUBSTANCE: device for firing gas-discharge lamps has pulsed firing transformer 1 with main core 2. The latter is placed inside bulb ring of lamp 3 so that its longitudinal axis crosses center and is perpendicular to ring plane. Additional cores 4 and 5 are located at butt end of core and form, together with it, shell-core firing transformer with clearance over external side surface. Clearance accommodates circular aluminium deflector 7; step-up winding 8 of transformer is connected through high-voltage lead to external electrode 9 of lamp. Second lead of winding 8 is connected to decoupling capacitor 10 shorted out by resistor 11 and diode 12. Negative lead of diode is connected with starting lead of secondary winding and its positive lead, with lamp cathode. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 2 dwg
