FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: value of total effort to press pieces to each other is determined from connection forging condition and is kept stable during the whole cycle of welding. Reduction effort is applied outside the contour of gasketing belt. Value of effort, applied on current conducting electrodes, during pulse of current running and space from contour of gasketing belt, on which reduction effort is applied, are determined from condition of current splash absence at the moment of current pulse finish and provision of reciprocal radial shift of power punches working surfaces and current conducting electrodes. Reduction effort value is determined equal to difference between total effort to press pieces and effort on current conducting electrodes. After current pulse finish, reduction efforts on current conducting electrodes are simultaneously changed to their forging values. EFFECT: method is used in welding. 4 dwg, 1 tbl
