FIELD: TV equipment. SUBSTANCE: color picture tube has slot shadow mask and faceplate of rectangular shape with different curvature along major and minor axes. Curvature of faceplate and mask along major axis is bigger close to sides than in center. Lines of cathode luminophor are oriented in direction of minor axis and are practically straight close to minor axis and sides. With distance from minor axis curvature of lines first grows then diminishes. Lines of cathode luminophor in this case face center of screen with convex side.
