FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: protecting compound and film-forming compound as aqueous suspension are applied on the surface of seeds. Lignosulfonates of copper, zinc, cobalt, manganese, molybdenum, sodium, ammonium and hydrogen are used as mentioned above film-forming compound. Said lignosulfonates are prepared by passing of lignin-containing wastes of cellulose production through wastes of aqueous solutions which represent solutions of salt of metals. The process is carried out till content of said lignosulfonates in aqueous suspension is 13 ± 4 mass and till summary or individual concentration of copper, zinc, cobalt, manganese, molybdenum ions or concentration of sodium or summary concentration of ammonium and hydrogen in said suspension is 9 + 4 mass EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method. 4 tbl
