FIELD: microwave technique. SUBSTANCE: magnetron has cathode, anode slow-wave structure, tunable element secured on at least one flexible component and is provided with hole of unequal-axis, such as elliptical, shape whose small axis coincides with tunable element axis. Hole receives cam of shaft passed through this hole perpendicular to tunable element axis. Maximum size of cam is smaller than that of small axis of hole and maximum radius of cam is smaller than that of long half-axis of hole but greater than its small half-axis by value equal to or greater than displacement distance of tunable element during frequency retuning from center to end of frequency control range; maximum size of cam in direction perpendicular to its maximum radius is smaller than small axis of hole by at least value corresponding to maximum displacement distance of tunable element during fast frequency variation.
