FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: implanted agent contains, wt.-% melatonin, 18-30; riboxin, 6.8-12.5; polymer (ethyl-α-cyanacrylate or ethoxyl-a-cyanacrylate), the balance. The implant of this composition was administered once (on August 8) to the mink cubs which were killed (from October 15 to 25) as their hair coat gradually ripened. The control animals received 5 g of melatonin at the same date and beginning from August 20 they received thyroidin (prototype) once weekly. The skins of the animals treated with the implant according to the invention reached the standard dimensions 45-35 days earlier at a high quality of fur: the skin area of male minks was 1181,4 cm2 while that of female animals was 800,1 cm2 (1142 cm2 and 751 cm2 in the prototype, respectively). EFFECT: increased size of skin and shorter growing time of fur-bearing animals.
