SUBSTANCE: method for determination of rock oil saturation includes revealing production and water-bearing formations in well section, measurement in revealed formations of interval times of longitudinal and transverse elastic waves, densities of producing and water-bearing formations and porosity factors of water-bearing and producing formations. Then, using measurement results, ratio of compressibility of oil-producing and water-bearing or flooded formations is determined, which is indicative of rock oil saturation.
