FIELD: digital magnetic recording. SUBSTANCE: device has binary signal converter, buffer register, logical gate, parallel-serial transducer, control unit, which has factor-of-nine frequency multiplier, two factor-of-four frequency dividers, factor-of-three frequency divider, two RS-flip-flops, pulse shaper, delay gate, two OR gates, four inverters, AND gate. Loss in stability to noise caused by transition to octal signals is neutralized by representation of octal signal by binary signal and by use of encoding scheme that provides possibility to correct single octal errors in arbitrary bit. EFFECT: decreased time of conversion, increased stability to noise without loss in density of digital magnetic recording. 7 dwg, 3 tbl
