ADHESIVE MASTIC Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: mastic for securing face plates, levelling the surfaces to be painted and as glazier's putty. SUBSTANCE: the adhesive mastic comprises 40-60% divinylstyrene latex, 25-35% carboxylate butadiene latex, asbestos, talc, zinc oxide, carboxymethyl cellulose, liquid glass, dioctyl phthalate, filler and water, the plasticizer is dioctyl phthalate and further comprises slurry which is production waste resulting from caustic soda purification of a brine washed with water comprising (wt): 35-34 CaCO₃ и Mg(OH)₂; 1-5 NaCl; 0.1-0.3 sulfates; 0.06-0.09 insolubles in HCl; 0.008 Fe(OH)₃; up to 100 water, the ratio of the components being as follows (wt): 18.0-23.0 40-60% divinylstyrene latex; 2.0-3.5 carboxylate butadiene latex; 10.0-15.0 talc; 2.0-3.0 zinc oxide; 2.5- 3.5 asbestos; 0.7-0.9 carboxymethyl cellulose; 7.0-10.0 liquid glass; 17.0-21.0 slurry calculated as dry residue, and water up to 100.0. The mastic of said composition has low manufacturing cost due to using production waste and high adhesion. EFFECT: improved properties of the adhesive mastic. 2 tbl
