FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing polycondensation of phenol with formaldehyde; drying and modifying of resin followed by thermal treatment, with carbamide and formaldehyde being used as modifiers. Formaldehyde is used in an amount of 0.5-3 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of resin. Thermal treatment of resin is conducted at 150-190 C for 10-40 min. Carbamide used as modifier is taken in an amount of 2-8 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of resin. Method allows shell strength in hot state to be increased by approximately 33.5% strength in cold state approximately by 22.6% and synthesis time to be reduced by 15% EFFECT: increased strength of shell molds and reduced time of resin synthesis. 2 cl, 2 tbl
