FIELD: preparation of protective decorative coatings for metals, more particularly preparation of textured coatings. SUBSTANCE: a powdery composition for textured coatings comprises 100 g high-molecular epoxy diane resin; 2.5-3.5 g of dicyanodiamide; 2.5-3.5 g of a curing accelerator; 2.4-3.0 parts of an aerosil modified with dimethyl dichlorosilane oligomerization products having an average surface area of 300 m²/g; 3.6-6.0 parts of an aerosil having an average surface area of 175-380 m²/g; 25-35 parts of pigments; 0.5-2.5 g of anticrater additive. Dicyanodiamine is first mixed with a texturing additive (a mixture of aerosils). The remaining components are added to the resulting mixture. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 4 tbl
