FIELD: accelerometry. SUBSTANCE: after pendulum has been brought to initial position, counteracting spring is disengaged. In course of free angular motion of pendulum, two equal time intervals are set, then three angular positions of pendulum corresponding to boundaries of intervals are measured and cosines of first and second angular positions are determined; this done, unknown acceleration is calculated on the basis of the data thus obtained taking into account known moment of inertia and position of pendulum center.
