FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves excitation of one or two quadrature parts of winding in one scale range of double-scale rotary transformer with windings belonging to different scale ranges mounted on common core, voltage measurement across two quadrature parts or across one part of other winding belonging to different scale range, and determination of error level by relationship between voltage and angular position of rotor.
