FIELD: water-engineering works; utilization of polycyclone divider to control drifts and ensuring constant flow rate of water from main canal into branching canals. SUBSTANCE: water works passes water complete with drifts moving in the bottom part of the stream from the upper reach of the main canal through inlet hole 6 into cylindrical hydrocyclone 5 where water acquires rotary-helical motion. Being acted upon by centrifugal forces, the solid particles are thrown to the walls of hydrocyclone 5 and move towards inlet holes 9 of conical hydrocyclone 8. Water clarified in the course of separation flows through drain pipe 7 of end wall 1 into side discharge canal 12. Solid particles move with the water streams through holes 9 into conical hydrocyclone 8 for secondary separation after which clarified waterflows through drain pipe 10 into side outlet canal 13 while drifts are discharged through pulp duct out of the hydrocyclone. Water with a smaller amount of drifts that failed to enter the polycyclone flows through freely into the lower reach of the main canal. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
