FIELD: oil field geophysical measurements; applicable in determination of angle of setting of whipstock in drilling of horizontal and directional inclined wells. SUBSTANCE: whipstock orientator has measuring unit and sensitive member in form of ball accommodated in orientator body. Mounted on measuring unit shaft is converter in form of two levers interconnected by connector. Ball is located between levers eccentrically to shaft axis in circular closed cylindrical chamber found in body. Axis of chamber coincides with shaft axis. Chamber bottom is formed by circular race. Guaranteed gap between ball and shaft and connector precludes vibration effect of ball on shaft bearings and decreases their wear. As a result, vibration resistance of construction does not depend on ball mass, which may be increased to obtain the required sensitivity of orientator. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
