FIELD: forest industry. SUBSTANCE: by-products of clippings of the free and shrubbery top subject to crushing are fed to counterknife 5 and to cutting drum 3. The device lattice is made as stationary sections, between them knives 10 are erected. The section dimensions are decreased in the course of rotation of cutting drum 3. Travelling along the latticed surface, particles whose size is smaller than that of the holes, fall through the sections and go to the finished product. The large-sized particles are carried off by the cutting knives of the cutting drum to those of the sections and are cut apart. The obtained mass of the wood chips gets to the next latticed section where again the small fraction is sorted out. The large fraction is crushed passing through the next cutting knife and gets to the next latticed section. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
