FIELD: cleaning of water surface from oil. SUBSTANCE: compound for cleaning water surface from oil and oil products includes byproducts of sulfate cellulose production, mas. tall oil obtained by digesting leaf wood 4-20; sulfate soap from digesting leaf wood 2-10; the balance; solvent in form of low-molecular alkanol. Solvent is used, preferably, in form of ethanol. EFFECT: increased oil gathering ability by 20-32% as compared with the known means, simplified preparation due to use of available byproducts of sulfate cellulose production. 2 cl, 1 tbl
