FIELD: well drilling and operation. SUBSTANCE: external pipe cutter has body with eccentrically installed insert which includes cutter holders with cutters spring-loaded and revolvable in vertical plane. Pipe cutter has gripping centralizers installed above and under cutter holders and ensuring holding the cut-off pipe part. Pipe cutter body is made with equal walls and has recess on its inner surface to receive insert, and guide unit is made in form of funnel coming in contact with insert lower end which is made with internal bevel forming angle of 20-40 deg with its side surface.
