FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: coal samples are taken in several points over the length of breakage face in the course of operation of coal continuous miner and screened into fractions. Bed disturbance coefficient is determined in each point by the content values of fractions. Bed is considered outburst-prone, should, even in one point, the coefficient of bed disturbance of screened sample exceed critical value. Sampling and sample screening into fractions are effected directly on conveyer whose one trough has holes of different diameters and similar to screen. With the use of vibrator and gate which has plates with holes similar to holes in conveyer trough, coal sample is screened into fractions which are accumulated on bottom plates. Gate is U-shaped and connected with vibration exciter by means of detachable joint and installed on conveyer trough for horizontal motion and covering the holes in conveyer trough. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 6 dwg, 1 tbl
