FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing a patient to artificially created changes in atmospheric pressure in treatments of 15-30 min duration applied during one week in spring and autumn. Every two minutes low pressure action is changed for one minute high pressure exposure and vice versa in the mode of plus-minus 20 mm of mercury column. The rest of the year the patient is treated with a single artificially created change in barometric pressure 4-8 h before the professionally forecasted natural change in atmospheric pressure. The direction of artificial change is selected corresponding to the falling or growing forecasted change within the limits of 15-30 mm of mercury column with gradient rate of 0.5-1.0 mm of mercury column per 1 s being taken. To set a complex preventive treatment, exposure to artificially created changes in atmospheric pressure are combined with water treatments like barometric baths. EFFECT: enhanced preventive and curative effectiveness; reduced side effects.
