FIELD: catalysts, rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves the mixing lanthanide chloride solvate with monohydric alcohol and preliminary prepared interaction product of triisobutyl aluminium with water (the latter is prepared at (-5-10) C at mole ratio aluminium : water = 2:1) in piperylene as hydrocarbon solvent. Interaction is carried out at (-5-40) C at mole ratio aluminium : piperylene : lanthanide = (10-20):(18-25):1 and then reaction mixture is kept at the room temperature for 6-15 hr. Catalyst is homogeneous solution that ensures to obtain polyisoprene at high yield at content of cis-1,4-structures 98.1-98.6% and polydispersion coefficient 2.1-2.8. Invention can be used in synthetic rubber industry. EFFECT: enhanced catalytic activity and stereoselectivity, simplified process. 1 tbl
