FIELD: manufacture of manganese-containing macroheterocyclic polymers such as polyhexazocyclanes. SUBSTANCE: process for preparing nitrogen-containing polymers by polycondensation of pyromellitic acid tetranitrile and aromatic diamine in phenol in inert gas atmosphere at 160-180 C till ammonia ceases to liberate in the presence of manganese salt at molar ratio of mixture component such as pyromellitic acid tetranitrile to diamine to manganese salt of 1.0:2.0:3.0, respectively. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process.
