FIELD: metal protection. SUBSTANCE: steel inhibitor has ethoxylated product of alkylphenols, polyalkylenepolyamines and formaldehyde condensation at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: alkylphenols 16-22; polyalkylenepolyamines 12-20; formaldehyde 2-3, and ethylene oxide 55-70. Inhibitor can be used at steel article etching in mineral acid solutions, for metal protection against acid corrosion and air protection against acid vapors.
