FIELD: construction, manufacture of building materials and items, production of pottery, foundry, powder metallurgy, etc. SUBSTANCE: loose materials are packed into moulds through the open side by a packing member, moving relative to this side; at least three motions along and about three mutually perpendicular coordinate axes are imparted simultaneously to the packing member. In this case the packing member does not cut across the plane coinciding with the open side of the mould. The material to be moulded is lacked until the previously packed material is pressed out to the open side of the mould. In its motion the lacking member moves from the beginning to the end of the mould at an obligatory protrusion of the moulded material above the surface of the open side of the mould. The variants of the method provide different combinations of motions of the packing member relative to mutually perpendicular coordinate axes. The method provides for manufacture of items from different materials with a high-density structure. It can be used at civil engineering work, manufacture of various construction products (for example, bricks, blocks, slabs, beams, etc.), refractories, as well as at packing of moulding boxes and production of boxless moulds, items from metals and sintered powder metals.
