FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: nut has the housing with outer cylindrical and polyhedral surfaces and spherical end faces. The supporting end face is provided with tangential slots. The polyhedral surface is provided with a radial dummy slot. The radii of the end faces exceed the inner diameter of the sphere of a part to be mated within a tolerance for polishing. The centers of the radii are positioned on the intersected axes. When a part is secured, end face tabs squeeze the threaded rod flexibly. So the surfaces of the radial slot change their position and the threaded joint is self-locked. EFFECT: improved design. 4 dwg
