FIELD: electrical engineering; checking synchronous machines for in-step running. SUBSTANCE: synchronism of ac voltages (currents) is determined by discriminating orthogonal and in-phase components and synchronously multiplexing mentioned components prior to applying them across oscilloscope screen. This provides for simultaneous indication of more than two voltages due to their display in the form of vector diagram.
