SUBSTANCE: fore extremity of ship has bulb attachment with side walls which are convergent to bottom in wedge-shaped pattern; they are connected with ship's hull over line of break. Lateral surfaces of convergent side walls are concave forming rounded-off profile of bulb attachment in area of ship's CL. Upper point where bulb attachment adjoins ship's hull is located in front of fore perpendicular at height of h≥kFr2L above load waterline and lower point is located at height above BL at 1/4 of loaded draft; width and length of bulb attachment in plane of load waterline are equal to, respectively: b = (0.09-0.15) B, lb≅0,78B+Fr2L, where h is height of bulb attachment above load waterline, m; b is width of bulb attachment in load waterline in area where it is connected to hull, m; is dimensionless coefficient; Fr is Froude number; L is ship's length between perpendiculars, m; lb is length of bulb attachment measured in load waterline, m and B is ship's breadth, m.
