FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device for implementation of method includes weight measuring mechanism with rocker 3 to which suspension with measuring electrode 5 is joined which dimensions are area-calibrated multiple of its measurement unit in sq.cm, means 32 connecting electrode to cathode bus of bath 31, spring element 2, rocker balancing mechanism 10 and indicator 16 of coating thickness. Spring element is manufactured in the form of spiral moment spring put on axis. In addition device incorporates unit of automatic discrete twisting of spiral spring 2 to specified turning angle manufactured in the form of electric motor 11 coupled via carrier 14 to outer end of spiral spring 2 and measuring pointer 7 and system controlling electric motor 29 which includes first complex A1 registering zero position, second complex A2 of termination of discrete mounted for interaction with rocker 3 and third complex A3 controlling electric motor 11 mounted for interaction with measuring pointer 7. Each complex is fabricated in the form of optrons (light-emitting diode, photodiode) with flip-flop and relay connected in series and linked to self-contained power supply source 28 and unit controlling electric motor 29 to which input outputs of complexes A1 and A2 are connected. Output of complex A3 is connected to second input of relay of first complex A1 and second input of the latter - to input of actuator 30 with sound and light signalling. Terminal group and toggle switch S are meant for connection of means of automatization of control system to technological circuit of electrochemical coating. Measuring mechanism of device is fitted with magnetic damper 4. Unpolluted air to created air overpressure inside is fed over hose and pipe union 33 inserted into case 26 to increase service life of device. Device can be controlled by hand or automatically.
