TURBODRILL Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry; downface motors for drilling boreholes. SUBSTANCE: turbodrill has hollow body, shaft located inside body, turbine consisting of stator stages mounted inside body and secured on shaft by rotor nut or coupling which connects rotor stages, axial and radial supports. Turbodrill is provided with oil lubricator formed as a piston installed in axial passage made in upper part of shaft to a depth equal to summed height of 10-12 rotor stages. Above-piston space of lubricator is connected with turbine hollow by passages made in rotor nut or connecting coupling. Below- piston space is connected through radial passages made in lower part of lubricator with provision of mounting clearance between shaft and seating surface of rotor stages and is filled with grease.
