FIELD: small arms. SUBSTANCE: small arms has a receiver with a barrel, breechblock carrier with breechblock and return spring, firing mechanism with a hammer, mainspring and mainspring guide, magazine and backplate; the backplate is made in the form of a trough-shaped body positioned in the rear part of the receiver and a spring-loaded wedge installed in it for movement in the vertical direction. The wedge has a hole stretched out in the vertical direction, an axle secured in the body side walls passes through this hole, and a lower boss placed in the through hole made in the body and receiver. The firing mechanism hammer is furnished with a hinge-joined connecting rod installed on it for engagement with the front end of the mainspring guide installed together with the main spring on the body bottom. The wedge has a longitudinal hole accommodating the rear end of the mainspring guide when the hammer is cocked. This prevents the wedge lifting and, consequently, separation of the backplate when the hammer is cocked. EFFECT: enhanced safety in use. 2 dwg
