BITUMINOUS-POLYMERIC PROTECTIVE COMPOSITION Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: compositions for long-term outside protection of undercarriage components of motor vehicles, agricultural machinery and railway cars against corrosion and abrasive wear. SUBSTANCE: bituminous-polymeric protective composition comprises petroleum asphalt, solid hydrocarbons, additive, solvent, oleopolymeric resin, pigment and mixture of modified nitrogen-containing bases. Composition exhibits high resistance to abrasion and corrosion. It contains, as additive, mixture of calcium carbonate and calcium sulphonate in oil, calcium sulphonate content being at least 28 wt.%. It contains, as pigment, pigment based on zinc oxide in combination with carbon black and rubber crumb, zinc oxide content being at least 27 wt.%. Mixture of modified higher nitrogen-containing (pyridinic) bases serves as corrosion inhibitor CD-lM. As solvent, composition comprises mixture of white spirit or Nefras agent and solvent taken in weight ratio 1:1, said components being present in following weight ratio, % by weight: petroleum asphalt 20.0-41.5; solid hydrocarbons 1.0-4.0; additive 0.5-2.0; corrosion inhibitor CD-1M 2.0-6.0; oleopolymeric resin 1.0-5.0; zinc-oxide-based pigment 9.0-18.0, solvent up to 100.
