METHOD OF PREPARING ACARICIDE PREPARATION FOR TREATMENT AND PROPHYLAXIS OF PSOROPTOSIS IN SHEEP - PHENOLLESS COAL CREOLIN Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: veterinary science, technology of acaricide preparation producing. SUBSTANCE: acaricide preparation phenolless coal creolin is prepared by the following method that involves mixing preliminary melted colophony (at 120-160 C) with coal oil at ratio = 2:1. To the prepared mixture 25% solution of sodium hydroxide is added for colophony saponification, stirred for 40 min and medicinal agent, sodium ichthyol, is added, stirred additionally for 15 min and the remained amount of coal oil and water were added (water content in total mass is 16%). The prepared mixture is stirred at 60-70 C for 1.30-1.45 h up to preparing the homogeneous mass at stability of 5% aqueous emulsion and at mass part of naphthalene 12.5%. Components were taken at the following ratios, wt.-%: coal oil 61.5-63.0; colophony 19.8-20.3; sodium ichthyol 6.0-6.8; sodium hydroxide 2.3-2.6, and water - the rest. The obtained concentrate has color from dark-brown to black-brown one, odor of coal oil, nontoxic. Concentrate forms with water stable emulsion of milk-white color. Phenolless coal creolin is used against psoroptosis in sheep and goats for treatment and prophylaxis and for preparing the combined acaricide preparation. For treatment sick sheep were bathed in bath twice at 10 days interval and for prophylaxis - once. Working emulsion is prepared before use by dissolving the obtained phenolless coal creolin concentrate in water (as measured 2 kg concentrate per 100 l water).
