FIELD: mechanical engineering; vehicle transmissions. SUBSTANCE: differential drive of sidecar wheel of proposed simplified design has final drive whose housing accommodates bevel reduction gear and asymmetrical differential, propeller shaft drive and bearing unit of sidecar wheel shaft. Asymmetrical differential has single-rim planet pinions which are in internal meshing with epicyclic gear and in external meshing with sun gear. Epicyclic and sun gears couple differentially the driving wheels of vehicle. The proposed differential drive has no step-up and step-down gearings between differential and sidecar wheel.
