FIELD: chemical technology, inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: powders of lithium nitrides, alkaline-earth metal, boron at mole ratio = 1:4:9, or metallic lithium, alkaline-earth metal and boron nitride at mole ratio = 1: 4: 3, or boron nitride, alkaline-earth metal boron nitride and boron nitride at mole ratio = 1:4:1, or lithium boron nitride, alkaline-earth nitrides and boron at mole ratio = 1:4:8, or lithium and alkaline-earth metal boron nitrides at mole ratio 1:4 were caked at 800-1500 C for 20-120 min in atmosphere of inert gas or ammonia. Complex lithium-alkaline-earth metal boron nitride of the formula $$$ is produced where M - alkaline-earth metal from group including Ca, Mg, Sr, Ba or Be. Catalyst $$$ and hexagonal BN at mass ratio = (7-20):(80-93) as homogeneous mixture or by layers is subjected for thermobaric treatment at p = 30-50 kbar, at 1150-1350 C for 1.5-20 min. Cubical BN is produced, yield is 45-57 wt.-%, fractions 160/63 - 25 wt.-%, not less. Catalyst can be easily removed by water washing. Complex is used for making abrasive and cutting materials.
