FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves positioning cylinder on supports; periodically measuring deviations of actual form of cylinder from predetermined straight form and correction value; plastoelastic bending of cylinder part by applying force between supports in direction opposed to initial non-rectilinearity and disposed in plane extending across longitudinal axis of cylinder. Supports are positioned in equally spaced relation, with space being equal to length of plunger. Method further involves measuring deviation of cylinder portion subjected to straightening from rectilinearity of axis; conducting plastoelastic bending till middle part of mentioned portion of cylinder acquires plastic flexure depending on value of initial deviation from rectilinearity in the middle part of mentioned portion of cylinder and nominal value of diametrical gap of cylinder-plunger joint; moving cylinder along axis for half the distance between supports and conducting straightening of subsequent portion. EFFECT: reduced deformation of cylinder-plunger pair by selecting optimum mode of straightening and enhanced reliability of movable joints. 2 cl, 6 dwg, 6 tbl
