FENCE ERECTED ON SWELLING SOILS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: civil engineering, fence is used in process of fence erection of agricultural and industrial enterprises territories and in other similar cases. SUBSTANCE: aim is to increase reliability and service life of fences due to prevention of residual swelling of deepened in ground poles and destruction of fence members under action of frosty swelling. Fence has poles deepened in ground and hinged to them fence members. Lower butt of each pole has plate or shoe. The latter is rigidly coupled to swelling resistant shell made in the form of corrugated pipe of elastic frost resistant material and mounted around pole underground part with clearance filled with unfrozen plastic substance. Upper part of shell has rigidly linked to it gasket ring. Space h_o from ground surface to fence members lower edge is defined from expression h_o≥m_δh_δ, with h_δ - depth of supporting plate or shoe, m_δ - weighed mean modules of ground swelling in layer of h_δ thick.
