GEAR MEASURING DEFORMATIONS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: measurement technology, measurement of extensions, compressions and similar efforts over lengths of structural members and parts of machines. SUBSTANCE: gear has case carrying two knives placed at some distance from each other. One knife is mounted fast on case, the other knife is mounted on case for movement in direction of change of length of measured structural member or with possibility of bending. Case houses mechanism for lifting and lowering. With lowering of gear holding magnets start functioning and connect case with measured structural member, edges of knives simultaneously cut into surface of measured structural member. In lifted position of gear holding magnets are brought out of operation and edges of knives are raised from measured surface. EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurements. 8 cl, 3 dwg
