FIELD: rotating shafts of turbomachines. SUBSTANCE: stuffing arrangement has case-mounted axially movable ring with pressure spring and secondary seal and shaft-mounted rotating ring with packing partition and helical grooves. Axially movable ring has facets and mating surface of rotating ring is provided with concentrators and/or pressure stabilizers in the form of projections in helical grooves, or in the form of depressions on packing partition, or in the form of inclined channels connecting helical grooves with low-pressure cavity, and communicating with each other through one or two annular grooves in the form of additional helical grooves combined with main ones and spaced at equal angle to direction of main grooves but opposing them in direction. Bottom parts of main and additional grooves are laid on each other. Pressure concentrators are made as inclined channels whose inlet part is located on low-pressure cavity side. Axially movable ring has centering belt in the form of cylindrical boss on ring with external centering surface in the form of cylindrical projection on ring with external centering surface in the form of part of sphere provided with slots in the form of part of cylinder; case mounts pins whose diameter is smaller than that of generating slots. Annular drilling provided in case for secondary seal of axially movable ring is either conical or spherical. EFFECT: improved sealing of turbine shafts. 13 cl, 17 dwg
