METHOD OF DRYING WOOD IN TUNNEL DRIER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: wood drying methods. SUBSTANCE: drying agent is divided into two flows; one flow is directed through first section of tunnel in way of motion of wood fed to tunnel the last. Then wood kept in tunnel is blown around during longer period of time; other flow is directed through second section of tunnel opposite motion of wood which is kept in tunnel more longer. Then wood which is kept in tunnel for shorter period of time is blown around. After discharge of flows from drier, they are subjected to treatment and then they are recirculated to respective section. Before feeding the flows for treatment, they may be mixed together and before recirculating them to section, they may be divided in two flows. Time of blowing-around the wood in first section, is equal to 25 to 50 percent total drying time. Prior to feeding the wood to second section after first one, it is kept in relaxation section in medium of immovable air. Special device is provided for recirculation of both drying agents.
