FIELD: instrumentation, measurement of lengths of extended ferromagnetic articles and speed of their movement by method of magnetic markers. SUBSTANCE: gear measuring length of ferromagnetic articles has unit recording magnetic markers, reproduction unit, unit of primary pulse and counter of number of markers. Gear is additionally inserted with comparator unit and pulse generator. Reproduction unit is made in the form of two ferroprobe magnetometers. Comparator unit includes logic AND circuit and two comparators. Inputs of first comparator are connected to outputs of ferroprobe magnetometers and its output - to first input of logic AND circuit which second input is connected to output of second comparator connected with first input to output of first magnetometer and with second input - to reference voltage. Output of logic AND circuit is output of comparator unit and is connected to counting input of counter of number of markers and to first input of recording unit which second input is connected to input of primary pulse and zeroing input of counter of markers is connected to output of pulse generator.
