FIELD: color photography, in particular, additive photographic printing in professional and amateur conditions. SUBSTANCE: a neutral-grey step wedge is printed on positive material by successive zonal light fluxes, then negative is introduced in them with subsequent chemical photographic treatment, after which three color-divided images of the step wedge are obtained, according to which the result is determined. When negative material is balanced with the illumination source in color temperature, the step wedge is printed by zonal light fluxes, into which a non-exposed section of negative, that has been subjected to all stages of chemical photographic treatment, is introduced. When negative material is unbalanced with the illumination source in color temperature, the step wedge is printed by zonal light fluxes, into which a section of negative when the main photography was performed, but not having copied gradations, is introduced. Besides, when negative material is unbalanced with the illumination source in color temperature, the step wedge is printed by zonal light fluxes through a negative with a degradated image.
