ELECTROLYZER FOR PRODUCTION OF NON-FERROUS METAL FOIL FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: electrometallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to electrolyzers for production of non-ferrous metal tape from solutions. Electrolyzer contains bath with anode and rotating drum-cathode with grooves on its end regions, and edge formers in the form of continuous elastic members with circular cross-section. The latter are installed with preload in grooves of drum-cathode and embrace drum-cathodes. Continuous elastic members are pressed to drum-cathodes by means of clamping rollers and stretched by means of tension rollers. The latter are positioned over the drum-cathodes and at an angle to grooves, and the former are positioned from outside the continuous elastic members in the zone where they enter grooves. Continuous elastic members may rotate around their axes actuated by clamping rollers. When applied, invention excludes break of foil edges caused by their sticking to grooves of drum-cathode.
