FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heating exterior part of ingot when performing ladle-to-mold casting of killed steal. Exothermic mixture contains hydrolysis lignin (20-35 wt %), refractory filler, and additionally sawdust (10-35%) and aluminium- containing material (20-40%), and, as filler, blast-furnace granulated slag (25-35%), ratio of lignin and sawdust summary weight to blast-furnace granulated slag weight being ranged from 1.2 to 1.5. EFFECT: improved composition of exothermic mixture.
